District Ambassador
Location: Everett, WA (In-person)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt.
Instead of one full-time position, this opening may be filled by two hirings for 20 hours per week, depending on candidates' qualifications and availability.
Schedule: Each position is 30-40 hours per week, providing coverage during the following hours:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (hours in summer go up to 6 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.)
Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Shifts may rotate, and schedules may adjust for special events.
Pay: $22.00 per hour

Organizational Background
Everett Station District is a division of Stations Unidos, and was formerly known as the Everett Station District Alliance. Stations Unidos is a nonprofit that creates welcoming neighborhoods around Everett's major transit stations. Funded by a business improvement area (BIA) contract with the City of Everett, our District Services Program maintains the safety and cleanliness of the district surrounding Everett Station near downtown. Position Summary
ESD seeks a full-time District Ambassador to serve as a welcoming, highly visible representative of the Everett Station District. This role combines community maintenance, hospitality, social services support, and public engagement, similar to operations management for a homeowners' association. Ambassadors help maintain a clean, safe, and inviting neighborhood while assisting visitors, residents, and local businesses. District Ambassadors provide a friendly presence, assist with wayfinding, support social service connections, and help ensure neighborhood upkeep through litter collection, graffiti removal, and maintenance of pet waste stations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide courteous assistance and wayfinding support, including directions, transit guidance, and information about events and local amenities.
Conduct regular foot and bicycle patrols throughout the district.
Perform neighborhood maintenance tasks, including litter pickup, graffiti removal, paint-over efforts, and pet waste station upkeep.
Build positive relationships with businesses and individuals regularly present in the area.
Respond calmly to quality-of-life concerns and assist with de-escalation when appropriate.
Provide referrals to local social service providers when appropriate.
Support district events and seasonal programming.
Document activities, observations, and maintenance issues using provided reporting tools.
Coordinate respectfully with city staff, transit partners, and community organizations.
Required Qualifications
At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional in challenging situations.
Ability to safely and confidently ride a large electric cargo bicycle.
Ability to perform light maintenance tasks (lifting, carrying, painting, etc.).
Ability to read, write, and complete basic reports in English.
Desired Skills & Experience
Bilingual, especially in Spanish.
Experience in working with people experiencing homelessness.
Prior knowledge and experience in providing similar services within the Everett Station District.
Essential Physical & Work Environment Requirements
This position is primarily outdoors and requires the ability to:
Stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day.
Ride a large electric cargo bicycle, up to 8 hours per day (average of 2-4 hours).
Lift, carry, and use light maintenance equipment and supplies.
Work in inclement weather conditions, including heat, rain, and snow.
